Damn you, Zach Braff
I hate it when a famous person writes a blog. I mean, like I need competition from famous writers and comedians, and actors, and newspaper columnists, and stuff. And I really hate it when these "bloggers" get hundreds of comments on their "blogs"--because that means that thousands of people are reading their lame-ass blogs instead of my astonishingly perfect blog.*
But, let me tell you, nothing makes me angrier than when an actor/writer/director type guy writes a really great blog that's funny as hell and insightful and interesting and did I mention funny too. And, what's worse, this actor/writer/director type guy stole a great blog entry idea from me! Last night, after watching some Olympic beach volleyball porn I was going to write a scathing and maybe even funny story about it. You know, the type of thing where I wonder why David Hasselhoff isn't the referee and I muse on how the cameramen often miss showing where the spike landed but manage to get every ass-shot available. But there's a critique already there in Garden State, only probably a bit funnier than I would have come up with. Damn you Zach Braff.
* please note, dear reader, this bitter introduction is merely a literary device I am using in order to surprise you with my second paragraph, kind of, in some sort of way. I don't know what the device is called, but, dammit, I'm going to be teaching it to all my students this year.

Zach, your movie made me sad. I absolutely adored it, but it made me incredibly sad. I saw the movie based on a recommondation from an ex-boyfriend. When he told me to see it, I could see something in his eyes, and I knew right then that I had to go. On a whim, I caught the early show after work that night. As soon as the chemistry started to build between you and Natalie Portman I knew exactly why I was urged to see your movie. Firstly, I am a sucker for anything that involves romance. Secondly, I too am a struggling actor, bearing the wrath of crappy customer service jobs and wandering through life looking for love, (Find heart attached to sleeve). Anyway, there were many scenes that I either 1) lived with that particular boyfriend or 2) so desperately wanted him to say those things to me. Both of these he knows, hence why seeing the movie made me sad. I bawled like a baby at the end...please take that as a compliment, as all that you are: writer, director and most importantly an amazing actor! You said that you read all these comments so I thought that I would share my emotions towards your movie with you...because everyone loves a human interest story...Garden State is living proof.
Tina xo
PS, if my 5 year plan works out - so long crappy day job, hello Hollywood! See you there!
PPS, I know you can't contact everyone, but if you can, check out my webpage, tinavahn.com.

Tina, I checked out your web page. It looks nice. One piece of advice: the blog could use some words. Good luck with the acting.

Yeah, I trackbacked to his "Dove Latte" entry and she must've followed the link and then posted her ad. Or maybe she links he'll check the trackback and will find her comment here easier than she would at his sight with the 1000 or so other comments... at any rate, it was too funny not to reply to :)
